東南網澳大利亞站9月14日訊 （本站記者 王慧明）今日上午，中國駐悉尼總領事顧小杰攜夫人，在童學軍副領事及孫彥濤領事的陪同下，首次走訪華人服務社。顧小杰肯定了華人服務社35年來為華人服務所做出的貢獻，也給服務社的全體人員帶去了中秋佳節的問候和關懷。

在參觀高齡頤養院時，顧總領事仔細詢問了老人們的身體狀況及生活情況，叮囑老人注意天氣變化保重身體。在聽到老人們說起自己豐富的業余生活時，顧小杰不禁贊揚道：“老吾老以及人之老，幼吾幼以及人之幼，中國自古以來就有尊老愛幼的優良傳統。能看到我們華人在澳洲的土地上頤養天年，要感謝華人服務社對傳承與發揚這個優良傳統所做出的不懈努力。”

得到顧總領事的肯定，華人服務社董事局主席周波既激動又感動，“華人服務社經過35年的發展，現在已經是本地華人社區里唯一一家提供從培幼到護老服務的福利機構，每星期有超過2，400個家庭使用常規性的服務。去年，服務社還被國僑辦授予了“華助中心”和“華社之光”的榮譽稱號。這些成績的取得離不開所有工作人員的辛勤付出，更離不開國家的支持與鼓勵。”

為了歡迎顧小杰領事一行的到訪，華人服務社的老人們也帶來了自己作曲和編排的合唱與舞蹈表演，讓整個華人服務中心充滿了歡聲笑語,暖意洋洋。

The New Chinese Consul General in Sydney Admires Chinese Australian Service Society

14th of September, Gu Xiaojie, the Chinese Consul General in Sydney, visits the Chinese Australian Service Society (CASS), including CASS’s Childcare Center and Residential Aged Care facilities Project.

Gu Xiaojie spoke highly of what CASS has accomplished, “It is Chinese tradition to honor old people as we do our own aged parents, and care for other’s children as our own. I am so glad to see this tradition is inherited greatly by CASS.”

Zhou Bo, Chairman of CASS reported on the programs they have achieved in the past 35 years, “We are proud that we can provide a wide range of welfare services to the community, assisting migrants to settle and integrate into the Australian society. CASS is able to prosper and grow continually because we have the support from all of you.”
